What are the best locations for toilet, sink and shower for a rectangle-shaped bathroom?

I'm remodeling my bathroom

  1. I like a separate toilet. Then put the sink next to the wide wall that separates the toilet. (The one with the door) Put the shower at the other end of the room and put a bathtub between the shower and the narrow toilet wall.
  2. I'd say the best locations are the ones you already have plumbing to. Very few bathroom remodels involve actually moving fixtures around. That's because the cost of running new plumbing is high, and may involve new vents, too. Moving the fixtures could easily double the cost of a bathroom remodel, or more.
  3. The one which is a real problem to move is the toilet because of that really big waste pipe. So if you can, treat that as fixed. If you have to it can be moved but may need macerator which is just another complication and something else to go wrong.Everything else can be moved around as the pipe work is relatively simple. If you are not doing it yourself this is a good time to get plumber in for advice/quote.
